Ahaana means dawn, that quiet time just before the sun breaks. The word itself reminds us of that deep relief we get with a sigh. This 11th-century design was traditionally used in Gujarat and research has shown that this precious and in-demand print was exported from Gujarat to Egypt and Indonesia during the medieval period.

Our artisan printers in India retrieved this original design from an old textile book, and have revived it with stunning earthy tones, especially for Buddhi Threads

This multi-layered print involves multiple steps and 4 hand-carved blocks and a number of all-natural dyes.

Rust iron with tamarind seed powder lays the foundation. It is then topped with alum solution and finished off with an indigo print.

• Bag It Up: Pop your loungewear in a garment bag and wash with similar colours (no whites, with natural dyes please!) to keep those vibrant hues shining bright.
• Go Natural (or use very gentle detergent if necessary) on Gentle wash Cycle: Use soap nuts, nature's little wonders from the Himalayas. These magic nuts are packed with natural soap that gently cleans your clothes without any chemicals
• Add to your wash and set to cold water.
• Hang out to dry out of direct sunlight
• Handle with Love: While ripping off your loungewear can be fun, unbuttoning with care will keep all those lovely buttons in place.
• Air Dry Only: Skip the tumble dryer! Give your pieces a good shake and hang them up to dry out of direct sunlight so they can dry naturally.
